Condobolin RSL Pipe Band meets annually at Anzac Day, Condobolin PAH & I Show Day (August of each year), Pipe Band Annual Dinner (October of each year)

Tattoo Logo Condobolin RSL Pipe Band celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2006, still retaining many of its original contingent. They are in fact unique in that they are the only active pipe band within a 200 kilometre radius. Undeterred by this, members of the band spent much of 2007 establishing new relationships with other bands to take up the challenge of presenting a tattoo to the residents of Condobolin and surrounding villages and towns of the Lachlan Shire, and hoping to corner the market of those who travel through our outback town on their way north or south for the winter break. It is also an ideal opportunity for past members of the band, and their families, to rejoin us for the event, and renew their connections with the community.

Condobolin RSL Pipe Band members are now proud to announce the “Condo the Heart Tattoo” which will take place on the RSL “Esplanade” on Saturday 11th October 2008, in partnership with the RSL Club as the focus of the Heart of NSW Festival celebrations throughout the Lachlan Shire in the month of October and gratefully acknowledge funding from Festivals Australia.

A first of its kind right here in the Central West, the Tattoo will feature:

The Australian Federal Police Pipes and Drums come from recent successes at 2007 Kremlin Zoria, the inaugural International Military Tattoo in Moscow, and in May 2008 participated in the International Police Tattoo in Adelaide. They have been invited to participate in the 2009 Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
Their mounted police contingent are also eager to participate.
Likewise, St Mary’s Pipe Band from our sister city Penrith, will also be in attendance. They actively participate in championships around the country and overseas, and will be in Glasgow in August 2008 for the World Pipe Band Championships, hoping to repeat or improve on their 2007 successes.
The programme will also include Canobolas Highland Pipe Band who perform throughout the Central West; Yanco Agricultural High School Drum Corps, who paraded in the Sydney ANZAC Day marches this year; cross-cultural performances by local artists, as well as our own pipe band: the Condobolin RSL Pipe Band, accompanied by members of both the Newcastle RSL and Lachlan Valley Pipe Bands, who as well as CHPB so often join us at show time.
