The Widening the Circle program is offering a workshop on ‘Social and Emotional Wellbeing’ which will look at aboriginal cultural awareness, aboriginal health and wellbeing and balanced lifestyles. 

This workshop will be held on Thursday 5 March from 10.30am till noon at the Lake Cargelligo Family Centre. 

The workshop is part of a 14 hour course on Mental Health First Aid, written specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, but which is open to everyone in the community and was put together by the University of Melbourne. 

Bonnie Johnson will be running this workshop. Bonnie is a Family Worker for Centacare in Lake Cargelligo and is a qualified instructor for this course. 

Young Parents Program Coordinator Amy Johnson said this workshop, along with a number of other workshops, are being coordinated throughout 2009 in Lake Cargelligo and Condobolin with the aim of working with young parents.
