Widening the Circle is pleased to be holding the ‘Save the Children: A Basic Child Care Course’ on Tuesday 5, 12, 19, 26 May and Tuesday 2, 9, 16 and 23 June 2009, at the Country Kids Store, Bathurst St Condobolin, from 10am to 12 noon.
The Save the Children Course is an eight week course which introduces participants to local professionals who speak on their area of expertise. These workshops are informal and friendly giving participants the opportunity to share their thoughts and ask questions.
The Save the Children Course will cover the following aspects of looking after children;
- The importance of play
- Caring for others peoples children
- Child development, child basic development and discipline, age stage abilities and expectations
- Discussing discipline with children and managing behavior
- Stress and anger, dealing with emergencies with children
- Child health and safety, practical childcare
- Child abuse and domestic violence
The workshops will be delivered by Anna Caskey who is a trained Save the Children mentor and an experienced childcare professional. This will be the second time Anna has delivered the Save the Children course in Condobolin.
