I would like to introduce you to 'Out of the Ashes' Gala Event. This will be a major fundraising event for St Joseph Primary School (K-6), Condobolin. (This event will be held on 8 September, 2007, catering for approximately 500 guests from across NSW and Interstate. Tickets will be available from Ticketec at the end of June, 2007 at $125.00 per head, which includes dinner, drink and entertainment)
Our committee aims to support our school by providing funds for vital equipment and resources. Education is a valuable asset in any community but in a small town it is one of its most valued and utilised resources. Not only is it used to educate our children, but the facilities are used for many community events and functions. Our community is fortunate to have more than one Primary School facility, therefore offering a choice in education for those families already living in our town, and those who may consider moving here in the future.
‘Out of the Ashes” Gala Event is a very special fundraising event that will:
• Provide taste-tingling cuisine and delectable refreshments;
• Include dancing, live band, guest speakers and artists, auctions and raffles;
• Provide valuable and much needed outdoor equipment facilities and classroom resources for our students;
• Promote the generosity and commitment from our major sponsors to our region and beyond.

In April 2003 and February 2004 St Joseph School, Condobolin was the target of two horrific arson attacks. In both attacks the School suffered significant and irreversible damage. A new site was chosen and construction of a new school commenced in October 2004. After much hard work the structural work on the school was completed, and the students were able to move into the school in April 2005.
Our Parish Priest Father Denis Doyle was the driving force and soul behind our recovery. He worked passionately and tirelessly to organize the rebuilding of our school and spirit. He inspired us to have faith, to focus on the positives and to move forward. He organized various events and committees, each with their own objective in raising funds and reducing the devastating impact of these fires. Ours is one such committee.
Sadly, Father Doyle has since died from an aggressive form of Leukaemia. We are now motivated by two main goals: to provide meaningful and enriching life experiences for our children, and to carry on the important work Father Doyle started.
The money raised by the ‘Out of the Ashes' Gala Event will be used to provide: computers; teacher's resources; Science and Maths resources and vital outdoor equipment including sporting equipment; athletic track and field equipment; shaded areas and turf.
