Buzz Day is nearly here again. Buzz Day is Diabetes Australia-NSW’s is the biggest appeal by Diabetes Australia-NSW and this year we hope to raise more than $300,000 on the day for vital diabetes research, education, awareness and advocacy programs.
In the next few weeks 173,500 flashing pens, projector keyrings, badges and clip-on bees will begin leaving a Glebe warehouse on a journey to help fight diabetes.
They will be sold at selected retail outlets and Sydney railway stations for Diabetes Buzz Day, Friday, September 21.
The annual fundraising event is the biggest appeal by Diabetes Australia-NSW and this year with a fresh new look for the event. The charity aims to raise $300,000 for vital diabetes awareness, education, research and advocacy programs.
And there will be plenty of opportunities for people to buy merchandise and help the campaign.
While September 21 is the date that Buzz Day merchandise will be sold at railways stations, the clip-on bees, flashing pens, projector keyrings and badges will be available throughout September at Best & Less, Blooms The Chemist, Medicare, National Pharmacies, Pharmacist Advice, Soul Pattinson Chemist and Terry White Chemists.
For the first time, the ever popular fluffy bees, bee dogs and the peeper’s bee will be available online at www.buzzday.com.au! The bee dog will also be available online through Supre at www.supre.com.au.
Diabetes Australia-NSW is also appealing for volunteers to help sell Buzz Day merchandise at Central, Town Hall, Wynyard, Circular Quay, Strathfield, St Leonards, Parramatta and Martin Place stations. Merchandise will also be sold at the QVB and Pitt St forecourts.
This is the seventh consecutive year for ‘Buzz Day’ and is made possible through the generous support of official sponsor, Toll Priority and other retail supporters.
Diabetes Australia-NSW is a non-profit, non-government organisation, which relies heavily on community support to continue its programs that help thousands of people with diabetes every year.
